私の原点。My origin.

この作品は、私が大学1年生の時に作ったものです。

先日この写真をたまたま見つけて、とても懐かしい気持ちになりました。と同時に、これが今の私の原点である事に気が付きました。

高校生の頃の私は美術の授業で陶芸を学び、大学でも陶芸をやろう！と心に決めていました。

そして、私は東北芸術工科大学の工芸コースに進学し、そこで工芸の世界には陶芸以外にも様々な分野があることを初めて知ったのです。

当時の芸工大の工芸コースは、1年生の時に4専攻それぞれの素材について学ぶカリキュラムでした。(金工、陶芸、漆芸、テキスタイル)

その時の金工の課題が、鉄で虫を作るというものでした。

この課題で、私は初めて鉄を叩いたり削ったり溶接したりしました。

当時、「過酷」というので有名な課題でした。

なぜなら、提出期限が短いだけでなく加工方法が冷間鍛造でなければならなかったからです。

それでも、初めての事が楽しくて毎日夜遅くまで制作していたのを覚えています。

提出期限直前には徹夜をして、最後の最後に蝶の足を支柱に固定するために溶接した時、「金属って重力に逆らえるんだ！」と感動しました。

金属に恋してしまったのですね。笑

その結果、私は2年生から金工を専攻し、卒業後も金属で何か作る仕事をしようとオーダーメイドジュエリーの会社に就職し、今に至ります。

就職した後もいろいろ経験しましたが、あの作品が私の原点です。

I made this work when I was a freshman of the university.

When I was a high school student I learn ceramics in art class and I will do ceramics at university too! I was deciding in my mind.

And I entered the crafts course of Tohoku University of Art and Design. So I first learned that there are various fields other than ceramics in the world of crafts.

At that time, the Crafts Course of Tohoku University of Art and Design was a curriculum to learn about the materials of metal crafts, ceramics, lacquer ware and textiles for first grade.

The task of metal craft was to make insects with iron.

At this time, I hit, scraped and welded iron for the first time.

At the time, this task was famous for being "harsh".

Because the submission deadline was short as well as the processing method had to be cold forging.

I still remember that I enjoyed for the first time to experience and I was producing every night until late at night.

I stayed up all night shortly before the submission deadline. Finally, I welded to fix the butterfly's legs and struts. At that time, "Metal is against gravity!"I was impressed.

I fell in love with metal.

As a result, I majored in metalwork from 2nd grade. After graduation, I wanted to work making something with metal, and I got a job at a made-to-order jewelry company. And to now.

Even after I got a job I have had various experiences, but that work is my starting point.
